I'm prefacing this by saying I know I sound like a dick, but hear me out. Also bit of a read Some background: We have been dating for 8 years (apparently a long time) and have plans to move out from our parents house and start our lives together. We both agreed that we wanted to buy a house together and split the down deposit 50/50. We've tried living together for week periods at a time, so we're not worried, and feel that'll be a good start since were on the same page. 5 years ago, my girlfriend started her own art business. She had dropped out of high school at the end of grade 12 (has like 5 courses left to do get her diploma) and decided she's not gonna get some piece of paper since she doesn't need it. Ever since, she's been working on her business with her mom and trying to get it off the ground. I've been going to uni, got a degree, and am now working fulltime. A couple months ago I was at my mother in law's house where she was babysitting my nephew and niece. Ages 8 and 4, I was with my 1 year old and 12 year old. My 12 year keeps running up and reporting to me that my neice and nephew are hurting my 1 year old on purpose. I come in to the room and pick her up from crying and the nephew says the 4 year old neice slapped my 1 year old for taking a toy. I don't think much of it and bring her in to the room with me where my 12 year old is explaining to my mother in law that they are picking on the 1 year old (his sister) and he's upset. 30 minutes later my 1 year old and the 4 year old neice are playing with a balloon on the floor, no problems. I walk around the corner into the kitchen and my 1 year old screams and stops, and screams and stops but sounds muffled. Yes, last post. I guess me updating those who cared turned into me seeking attention or making things up. I joined reddit to ask advice about my relationship and was so impressed by my feedback on the first post I continued.
